This medium holds 2.6gb worth of data and can only be written on be compatible DVDR DL recorders, and are commonly used in camcorders. These discs can be read in DVD devices although some older machines may have problems.
The disc has two layers which can be recorded on, and the machine after finishing the top layer, shines the laser through the transparent top layer too continue recording.
The cost of these disks remain more expensive than the single layer discs.
