Description:
Panasonic Have launched 8GB SD card which will meet the SD High Capacity (SDHC) specification - also known as the SD 2.0 standard - which paves the way for cards capable of holding up to 32GB of information. You can already get 8GB SD cards based on the 1.1 spec, of course, but for the new version it's a start.
SD 2.0 incorporates the FAT32 file-system, so SDHC cards will not be compatible with SD slots that don't support the second-generation specification.
The SDHC specification was established to meet the growing demand for HD [High Definition] video and high-resolution image recording which require massive data storage capacity.
Extremely fast data transfer speed for professionals. Meets the requirements of the latest professional digital SLR cameras or of the high definition broadcasting SD camcorders.
The data transfer speed of up to 22MB/s, Class 10, minimizes the intervals between shots and takes full advantage of consecutive shooting even with the professional digital SLR camera.
The SD Memory Card has the ability to freely copy general digital data and uses unique built-in technology for storing and transferring copyrighted content. This feature, which uses CPRM technology, is a key to enabling a new distribution system for music and other commercial media, because it assures a high level of protection against illegal copying.
